Frequently Asked Questions
hidden
GDPR
Q: Is the EFMD Virtual Fair Solution GDPR compliant?
A: Yes, data is processed in accordance with GDPR requirements.
REGISTRATION
Q. If we already registered for the Spring Series, do we need to register again for the Fall Series?
No, if your institution registered for the Spring there is no registration required. Your registration covers the full 2020 Series.
Q. What is the cost of the Fall Series for our school?
There is a one-time administrative fee of 990,00 € which covers access for your talent (both current students and alumni) to all fairs in the Fall 2020 season.
Q: Is there a registration deadline?
A: Your talent will be eligible to participate in the fairs starting three days following your school’s registration.
Q: How do we proceed with practicalities – i.e. payment, access, communications material, etc.?
A: To register your school’s participation please proceed to the registration form. As soon as we have confirmed your school’s registration, we will activate the “Virtual Career Fairs” section for you and your talent to access via the Highered Talent Panel.
PRICING
Q. Can we get a first free trial to see how it works?
A. We are not able to offer a free trial to the Fall Series. Please review the Spring Series results.
Q: Are the employers charged for attending. If so, are you able to share a rough guide on fees?
A: Yes, a new recruiter pays a 99 € administration fee to attend a fair. Existing recruiters from the Spring Series pay a 69 € administration fee to attend.
Participating schools are eligible to invite one corporate partner with up to 3 recruiters for 3 different countries on a complimentary basis to the fair of their choice.
BEFORE THE FAIR
Q:Which other schools typically attend?
A: Since the announcement of the EFMD Virtual Career Fair Series by Highered, we have received an overwhelmingly positive response. More than 110 schools participated in the Spring Series and we expect more than 200 schools to be on board for the Fall Series. Participating schools can be seen here.
Q: Which recruiters will attend?
A: As companies and organizations come on board for each of the fairs, we will be updating the Highered web with this information. Please check here to see the logos of participating companies and organizations updated on a regular basis.
Q: Is there a way for Career Services to login as an observer to see how the fair is going?
A: Yes, the virtual fairs will be hosted on gethighered.global. Therefore, anyone with student/alumni or admin status at the school will be able to access it.
Q:Do you have any further information on the types of jobs they advertise?
A:Given that the EFMD is an organization of quality, it is very important to us that the opportunities posted are relevant for the talent representing our academic institutions. In approaching the recruiters, we are encouraging them to share opportunities ranging from internships, to graduate/rotational programs and experienced hire positions.
Q:Are the virtual career fairs targeted to undergraduate or graduate students?
Your institution is welcome to invite both current students (ranging from undergraduate to postgraduate profiles) and alumni to the virtual fairs. The only exception would be the Virtual Fairs targeting MBAS only which will take place from October 6-8, 2020.
Q: Are the fairs only for our business school students?
A: If your Career Center caters to profiles across different schools/faculties, you are welcome to extend an invitation to relevant talent based on the target profiles of the respective fairs at your discretion.
DURING THE FAIR
Q: Can students/alumni upload their CV to the virtual fair platform?
A: As a registered user of Highered, your talent will have the opportunity to upload their CV (starting September 2020).
Q: What opportunities does talent have to interact with the companies on the day of the event?
A: The virtual fairs replicate an actual recruiting event, where talent easily can visit the stands, view company profiles/videos, maintain private chats with recruiters (including video calls and public chats), view job opportunities and employer branding content, apply to jobs and attend webcasts and seminars.
Q: Is there a queue or waiting line to have a chat with recruiters at a specific company?
A: No, there is no waiting line because a recruiter can have more than 1 private chat at the same time. Also, each company or organization can have technically infinite recruiters at their stand and they can refer the visitor to another colleague who’s online at the same time.
Q: How do the students manage their time?
A: Talent spends much less time at a virtual career fair versus a traditional career fair. Viewing of the actual stands and company webinar agenda begins on Day 1 (Preparation Day) of each Fair, as well as the CV Clinics and live virtual conferences with the Careers gurus and speakers. Dr. Amber Wigmore Alvarez, CIO of Highered EFMD Shared Career Services, will lead a masterclass in September ahead of the Fall Series launch on “How to Succeed at a Virtual Career Fair”. Following the live broadcast, the masterclass will be made available in the “Masterclasses” section of your school’s GetHighered.global platform.
Q: Is there flexibility if a company wants to set-up a webcast without much advance notice during the event?
A: Yes, immediate set-up/exposure.
Q: Is there any kind of sign-up process for the company presentation webinars or are they always completely open?
A: The company presentation webinars are open with no need to pre-register. Each company would use their own webinar platform (e.g. Zoom) and the capacity would be based on the respective company’s platform.
Q: How are the private chats initiated?
A: It is the student or alum who opts to initiate a private chat with a recruiter.
ANALYTICS
Q: With regards to talent engagement, what analytics does a school have access to?
A: Career Services will receive a summary of aggregate metrics and analytics in order to track performance and report to stakeholders, including your school’s unique analytics on attendance rates and candidate participation.
OTHER
Q:Do you offer exclusive events? For example, could our school host our own careers fair on your platform and what would be the cost of this?
A: Please stay tuned for a special webinar about the new Highered Virtual Career Fair technological solution.
